Week 1 of The X Factor 2014 room auditions saw 14-year-old student Charlie Jones sing the One Direction hit ‘Little Things’.
Uninterested in what any of the other judges thought of this Kent teenagers performance, Simon simply commented: “You know what? You got potential.” Purely on Mr Cowell’s say so, Charlie’s 1D cover comfortably booked his place at the arena auditions.
So does the music mogul see Charlie as a potential solo artist, or are we seeing the first piece of the next X Factor-constructed boyband?
