Tamera Foster Settles Unfinished Business in X Factor Sing Off

Following her stunning, yet problematic performance in this years X Factor UK auditions, Tamera Foster tonight fulfilled her enormous vocal potential.

After somehow finding herself in the bottom two of this weekends public vote, along with group Kingsland Road, it was time for the 16 year old to remind viewers just what she’s capable of and why she’s here. Despite Kingsland putting up a strong fight, it was clear that if Tamera could nail her save-me-song she’d be staying in the competition.

In her original arena audition, the nervous teenager sang the Whitney Houston classic ‘I Have Nothing’. Though she demonstrated her tremendous power and range, her inability to remember the songs lyrics left a few doubts in the minds of judges and viewers alike.

Once Kingsland Road had sung first, the visibly shaken and upset Tamera took to the stage with something to prove, and prove it she did. In one of the best performances in X Factor sing off history, Tamera this time gave a powerful and mistake-free ‘I Have Nothing’ rendition, leaving the judges little to ponder.

In a change from the usual “we’re running out of time, I’ve gotta push you for a decision” drama, tonight’s verdicts were pretty short and sweet. Apart from Gary Barlow who obviously chose to save his own act, the judges all elected to save Tamera Foster, keeping her on the show for at least one more week.

Whether tonight’s performance proves enough to boost Tamera’s popularity among voters, or if the issue revolves more around likability than talent, we’ll soon see.
