Cast of Pompidou: Matt Lucas and Alex MacQueen star as Pompidou and Hove, joined by Marion The Dog in this brand-new ‘non-dialogue’ BBC Two comedy.
When does Pompidou start on BBC Two?
Created by and starring ‘Little Britain’ and ‘Come Fly With Me’ actor Matt Lucas, the start date and time for Pompidou has now been officially set for Sunday 1 March 2015 at 6:30pm on BBC2. The series will be broadcast over six 30-minute episodes.

When the series was first announced back in 2014, Pompidou was due to be broadcast on BBC One. However, as you can see by the recently released trailer (below), the show has now made the switch to BBC2.
In addition to his writing duties, Lucas leads the shows cast in the title role of Pompidou, an elderly oddball aristocrat who’s now fallen on hard times. The series will also star actor Alex MacQueen as Pompidou’s long-suffering butler, Hove. MacQueen is probably currently best known for appearing in fellow BBC shows ‘Holby City’ and ‘The Thick Of It’.

The programme is set on Pompidou’s deteriorating estate, where the pompous and penniless aristocrat resides in an old clapped-out caravan. Despite his unfortunate financial situation, this lovable eccentric is still being attended to by his loyal butler, Hove. The pair are joined on the estate by their elegant Afghan Hound, Marion.

More Pompidou cast details coming soon.
There’s currently no mention of a cameo role for Matt’s traditional comedy partner David Walliams, but I wouldn’t rule out a brief appearance.
Broadcast in the UK on BBC Two, Pompidou is produced in association with Netflix.
