Spoiler Alert! Below is the list of which X Factor UK judge is mentoring which category for the 2013 series. Don’t continue reading if you’d rather watch the bootcamp episodes before finding out.
In a new twist to this years series, the judges categories were announced at the beginning of bootcamp as opposed to after. Here is the list of which X Factor judge has got which contestant category:
Nicole Scherzinger – The Girls. After winning the X Factor last year at her first attempt, Nicole will once again be in with a great chance of victory. Mentoring the girls category means Scherzy gets current favorite Tamera Foster on her team.
Gary Barlow – The Groups. Well if anyone knows what it takes to create a successful pop group, it’s Gary. Despite this category being notoriously difficult to win with, there’s no doubt the Take That star will give his acts the best possible chance.
Sharon Osbourne – The Over 25’s. Following her long break from the show Mrs O has been rewarded for returning by receiving the overs, another tough category to succeed with. Sharon’s best hopes will lie on the shoulders of 36-year-old prison warden Sam Bailey, who delivered one of the first round auditions stand-out performances.
Louis Walsh – Boys. In what will apparently be Louis last X Factor series, Simon looks to have treated his right-hand man by assigning him the boys, the only category he has ever won with. Despite being the only X Factor UK judge to have worked on all 10 series, Louis has only mentored the winning act once, Shayne Ward way back in 2005. So will 2013 see the svengali of British pop finally do the double and end his judging career on a high? We’ll have to wait for the live shows to find out.
Following bootcamp and judges houses, and barring any twists, each mentor will be allowed to take just three acts through to the live shows.
