Who is the new Doctor Who 2013?

Question: Who will be playing Doctor Who in the new series?

Answer: The 12th actor to play the role of Doctor Who was revealed live on BBC One earlier tonight. The new time lord is to be played by Peter Capaldi.

Capaldi is a Scottish actor best known in the UK for starring in the political comedy ‘The Thick of It’.

The 55 year old becomes the oldest actor to play the part since the original Doctor, William Hartnell way back in 1963.

Peter who appears to be going down as a popular choice among the shows loyal fans, looks set to replace the current Doctor Who Matt Smith at the end of the 2013 Christmas special later this year.

However this much anticipated moment won’t be Peter Capaldi’s first appearance in a Doctor Who episode. The award winning actor played the role of Caecilius in the 2008 episode ‘The Fires of Pompeii’.
