Where do they film Stars In Their Eyes?
The filming location used for the new 2015 series of Harry Hill’s Stars In Their Eyes is Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. Despite being broadcast on ITV, the show is actually shot at BBC Elstree Studios, full address:
Eldon Avenue Entrance

Prior to its return in 2015, all the previous series of Stars In Their Eyes from 1990 to 2006 were filmed up north at Granada Studios in Manchester.
Who used to host Stars In Their Eyes?
Before comedian Harry Hill took over presenting duties, the show had featured a number of different hosts. The first series, which came to ITV in 1990, was fronted by Leslie Crowther. Replacing Crowther in 1993 was SITE’s longest serving presenter Matthew Kelly, who apart from a short period in 2003 when Davina McCall filled in, was the face of the programme right through to 2004. Finally, from then up to 2006, Cat Deeley was the shows presenter.
For those of you a little young to remember the golden age of Stars In Their Eyes, the basic premise of the show is this: Vocally talented members of the public are dressed up to look like famous singers, past and present. Unlike The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and The Voice, there’ll be no ‘making the song their own’, with the aim of the show being to sound as much like the original singer as possible.
The way the modern day reality singing shows have developed the knack of sucking out the melody and life out of once great songs, simply having good singers sing good songs as they were meant to sound should make a refreshing change. Don’t expect to see any panel of judges giving their opinions either.
Episode 1 of 6 in the first Harry Hill series starts airing on ITV at 7:00pm on Saturday the 10th of January 2015. This choice of scheduling time puts the show head-to-head with BBC One’s own signing based reality competition, The Voice UK.
