BBC One have today given us our first look at the lineup of judges for their brand-new, gymnastics-based reality TV series, Tumble.
Who are the Tumble judges?
Judging the celebrity contestants this summer will be Commonwealth Games Gold medal winning gymnast Craig Heap, French choreographer and aerial performer Sebastien Stella, London 2012 British medal winner and Strictly Come Dancing champ Louis Smith, plus Romanian Olympic gymnastics legend Nadia Comaneci, who’ll be acting as the shows head judge.
Comaneci, who was famously the first female gymnast to ever achieve a perfect 10 in Olympic competition, said: “I know what it’s like to strive for that perfect 10! Your heart is pounding and your palms are sweaty, but when you step out onto that floor, or mount the bars or beam, you have to perform like your life depends on it. The celebrities are going to be put through a fitness, gymnastic and acrobatic training regime that’s like nothing they’ll ever have experienced, and I can’t wait to see the results!”
Featuring 10 celebs being put through their paces by high-flying gymnasts from around the world, with whom they’ll be partnered with throughout the series, contestants will aim to impress viewers before facing the public vote.
With the Tumble BBC start date expected to be set for early August, 2014, the series will be hosted by The One Show’s Alex Jones. Speaking about the programme, Alex said: “I am thrilled to be hosting this exciting new show, which is sure to offer jaw-dropping stunts and a visual spectacle. No-one has told me yet whether I will be required to don a leotard or master the balance beams, but I am willing to give it a go. If this year has taught me anything, it is that no challenge is too great or too high!”
