Where is The Great British Bake Off filmed? – TV Filming Locations

The Great British Bake Off 2015 Filming Locations: Mary, Paul, Mel and Sue return for Series 6 of the BBC’s hit amateur baking show.

Where is The Great British Bake Off filmed in 2015?

As was also the case in 2014, this years new series of Bake Off was filmed in the gardens of Welford Park country house in Newbury, Berkshire. The estate is best known for its display of Snowdrops each year in early Spring, during which time the grounds can be visited by members of the public.

Due to the show being filmed months in advance and the BBC understandably not wanting any information given away too early, a great deal of secrecy always surrounds the GBBO prior to broadcasting.

According to The Telegraph, filming for series 6 began in April, 2015, with the famous giant white marquee set in place for a full 10 weeks. Whereas most similar reality shows are filmed over the course of a few days, but then broadcast over a number of weeks, each episode of Bake Off is filmed over a separate weekend.

Season 6 of The Great British Bake Off premieres on Wednesday the 5th of August, 2015 at 8:00pm on BBC One.

For series 3 in 2012 and series 4 in 2013, the location used to film the popular BBC programme had been the grounds of the West Country’s, Harptree Court.

This large 18th century country house is located in East Harptree, Bristol, Somerset, with the building currently being used as a luxury bed & breakfast.

For the first series in 2010, the competition was filmed at a number of different places around Britain, while series 2 was held exclusively at Valentines Mansion in Redbridge.

Series 1 of The Great Sport Relief/Comic Relief Bake Off was filmed at Valentines Mansion, with series 2 in 2013 and series 3 (broadcast in 2014) was filmed at Harptree Court.
