Video: Sam Bailey singing Clown at X Factor UK Bootcamp

Is 2013 set to be the year of the overs? If 36 year old X Factor UK contestant Sam Bailey has anything to say about things, there’s no doubt about it.

After already stunning viewers with her full power first round auditions, the female prison officer used the bootcamp auditions to show she not only has incredible power, but tremendous emotion too.

Here’s the video of Sam performing her own excellent version of Emeli Sande’s ‘Clown’:

Following the song, the over’s category contestant received a standing ovation from the Wembley Arena audience plus great praise from all four judges:

Gary Barlow said “That was absolutely note perfect”,  Louis Walsh said “To think you’ve been working in a prison all these years, you should have been in a recording studio”, finally her mentor Sharon Osbourne said she “Had dreamed of having a contestant like you”.

Needless to say, Sam Bailey was given a seat and a place at Sharon’s judges house. Looking at Sharon as she watched and listened to Sam sing, you got the feeling that one performance made returning as an X Factor judge all worthwhile to her.
