Sam Bailey’s two song choices for X Factor 2013’s Elton John v Beyonce week have been revealed as ‘Candle In The Wind’ and ‘If I Were A Boy’. This weekend marks the series semi-finals, with the top three acts going through to the live final at Wembley.
With the opportunity to perform a Beyonce song on the live shows, it would have been nice to see Sam sing ‘Listen’ after her amazing version in the original auditions. Perhaps this years favorite is saving that one for the final itself and maybe even a duet?
Saying that, ‘If I Were A Boy’ is another powerful, emotional song that I can see Sam doing great things with.
The same can certainly be said for ‘Candle In The Wind’ which was written by Bernie Taupin and Elton in 1973, about the late American actress Marilyn Monroe.
