For the millions of viewers disappointed to see Peter Kay’s Car Share come to an end last year, especially with the rather sad way it concluded, you’ll be delighted to learn the story’s not quite over yet.
Series 2’s storyline finished with John and Kayleigh (played by actress Sian Gibson) arguing and eventually going their separate ways, despite it appearing for so long that the pair would get it together.
Now we know that May 2018 will see two brand-new episodes of Car Share broadcast on BBC One, with the second episode expected to pick up where season 2 ended, hopefully giving fans the more romantic and happier ending we all wanted. This is then expected to be the last ever episode.
Before that though, viewers will be treated to Peter Kay’s Car Share Unscripted. Peter tells us in the above trailer video that “We decided to try something special. What would it be like if we filmed a whole journey without a script? Just making it up and basically seeing what happened.”
The air date and time for this Unscripted episode, which won’t have any particular storyline, has now been officially confirmed as Monday 7 May, 2018 at 10:00pm on BBC1. Don’t worry though if you miss it, as the show will be available to watch right after on BBC iPlayer.
The scripted series finale will then broadcast later in the month.
