What’s the series about?

Life In Squares follows the influential and groundbreaking Bloomsbury Group. Made up of revolutionary writers, artists, philosophers and intellectuals, these friends and lovers were to leave a remarkable and lasting influence on British 20th century culture.

Written by the BAFTA Award-winning Amanda Coe, Life In Squares is based around the close, but troubled relationship of sisters Vanessa Bell and Virginia Woolf, and gay artist Duncan Grant. Together, this trio, and their like-minded friends, attempt to navigate their way through the worlds of love, sex and art.

The story begins in 1901 with the death of Queen Victoria, who had been reigning as monarch for almost 64 years. The series follows the group as they try to break away from the shackles of Victorian life, seeking instead to live more creative and sexual free existences.
