Klondike – Discovery UK
This week see’s the start of the Discovery Channel UK’s first ever scripted series ‘Klondike’, with episode 1 of 5 airing from 9:00pm to 11:00pm on Thursday the 27th of March, 2014.
The brand new drama will be bringing to life the story of seven strangers and their fight to survive and prosper in a small, frontier town in the remote region of Klondike. The tale starts in the late 19th century as best friends, Bill and Epstein embark on a perilous journey through the wilderness of North America to the lawless Dawson City.
Viewers of Klondike will witness the shows characters risk their lives as they take on the full force of both nature and their fellow man. With outlaws, entrepreneurs and seductive courtesans all desperate to get their hands on a share of the vast quantities of wealth, are there any limits to how far people will go?
Discovery UK’s first ever drama series, which tells the powerful story of the last great North American gold rush, is based on the Charlotte Gray book ‘Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich in the Klondike’. This TV miniseries is produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Simon Cellan Jones.
