Rounding out the first episode of The X Factor 2014 auditions was ex-Navy warfare specialist, Jay James from West-Wales.
The 30-year-old gave a powerful and emotion rendition of ‘Say Something’ by A Big Bad World and Christina Aguilera. Here’s what the panel made of it:

Simon Cowell: “Amazing! That is how you do it.”
Mel B: “God your passion and emotion was just ridiculously good, like I cannot even tell you, and I hate you because you made me cry, and I don’t cry.”
Louis Walsh: “It was a brilliant song choice and you just reeled all of us in. You had us there in your hands with every single word, wow!”
Cheryl: “That was one of the most passionate performances we’ve had so far, the passion was oozing from you.”
Jay’s powerful vocals led to him cruising into the arena stage of the X Factor auditions.
