Dancing on Ice 2014 Contestants: Should Last Series be Best of the Best?

I’ve often thought how good it would be if they had a special champions series of the X Factor, where all the previous winners came back for a best of the best showdown. You know, starting from the live shows stage. Surely this would be a great way to end any of kind long running reality show.

The problem is producers don’t usually know it’ll be the last series until after its finished, by which time it’s too late. However, back in the summer ITV revealed that Dancing on Ice 2014 would be its ninth and last series. Potentially giving producers the option of bringing back previous contestants and ending things in style.

So should series 9 of Dancing on Ice be a champion of champions contest, or failing that, at least feature a fan favorite lineup? With the cast and judges still to be officially announced, anythings still possible.

If they did decide to go with an all-winners group of contestants though, some of the celebs would then have to team up with a new professional partner. For example, pro skater Daniel Whiston has partnered the winning celebrity in three of the eight series so far. Taking the first Dancing on Ice title with Corrie’s Gaynor Faye, series five’s with Emmerdale’s Hayley Tamaddon and the 2013 series with champion gymnast, Beth Tweddle.

Other winning contestants over the years include rugby star Kyran Bracken, X Factors Ray Quinn, another Emmerdale actress Suzanne Shaw, Eastender Sam Attwater and a third Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden. Not being a massive soap fan, i’m guessing Emmerdale features a high volume of ice skating.
