The BBC sitcom follows the lives of three couples living in Thurnemouth, which is billed as being ‘Norfolk’s only West-facing resort.’
Living in their gadget-filled dream house, John and Maureen are adventurous in every area of their lives, including the bedroom. For this couple, 60 is the new 40. However, there’s a regular reminder of what the future holds, in the shape of Maureen’s ever-present mum, Joan.
Alan and Joyce are looking for different things from retirements. While Alan is happy to slow down, Joyce wants to start speeding up.
Lastly there’s Trevor and Carol, who between them, have got non-communication down to a fine art. So much so that if Trevor ever chose to spend the weekend away, Carol may not even notice.
Where is Boomers filmed?
For the shows outdoor scenes, filming mainly took place at locations in the Hampton area of Herne Bay, Kent.
Prior to being changed earlier this summer, the show was originally to be called Grey Mates. Judging by the trailer below, it appears the new title comes from the phrase, baby boomers.
